Postal Worker Acquitted In Hit-And-Run Accident That Left Attorney Alan Dershowitz’s Sister-In-Law Dead

After the not guilty verdict was handed down, Ian Clement expressed relief and his sympathy for the Dershowitz family. Dershowitz’s husband Nathan, who is a lawyer, said after the verdict that he believes in the jury system but wished he had been part of the prosecution team.

Testimony Continues In Hit-And-Run Trial For Accident That Left Attorney Alan Dershowitz’s Sister-In-Law Dead

Postal supervisor Marina Garcia testified that she repeatedly asked Clement why he drove off and did not get out of his truck. Clement just shrugged and had a nervous smile, Garcia testified.

Trial Under Way In Hit-And-Run Death Of Attorney Alan Dershowitz’s Sister-In-Law

Driver Ian Clement has been charged with leaving the scene of the accident after his truck hit and killed 68-year-old Marilyn Dershowitz. Clement’s defense is that he did not know he had hit the woman.

Police say a mail truck hit 68-year-old Marilyn Dershowitz as she rode her bike in Chelsea near West 29th Street and Ninth Avenue Saturday afternoon.
