New Rail Terminal On Long Island Helping Private Companies Trade In Trucks For Trains

The truck traffic on the Long Island Expressway may soon get lighter, as a new rail terminal is helping private companies trade in trucks for trains. The world’s longest parking lot is getting some relief in the form of freight-train service.

Celebration Planned For Firefighters Who Battled Long Island Brush Fire

An all-day celebration is planned for May 19 at the Brookhaven Amphitheater in Farmingville to honor the hundreds of volunteer firefighters who helped douse the brush fire that scorched 1,124 acres of Suffolk County.
