NJ Men Indicted On Charges They Ran Phony 9/11 Charity

Thomas Scalgione of Stafford Township and Mark Niemczyk of Tinton Falls have been indicted on conspiracy and theft by deception charges.

Judge Orders Truck Allegedly Used In Fake 9/11 Charity Impounded

The judge also ordered that the men’s assets be frozen after the state alleged the two failed to register as a charity, collected money and kept it for themselves.

N.J. Suing Pair Over Fake 9/11 Charity That Raised Tens Of Thousands

Prosecutors said the scam was masterminded by convicted felon Mark Niemczyk, who falsely claimed he was a Navy SEAL, and another ex-con, Thomas Scalgione.
