Four NYC Hospitals Damaged In Superstorm Sandy To Get $1.6 Billion

New York City is getting at least $1.6 billion in federal money to help public hospitals install floodwalls, flood proof elevators and otherwise become more storm-resilient.

Schumer Announces $103 Million In Sandy Aid For Hospitals

The money from the Federal Emergency Management Agency will go to facilities including Bellevue Hospital, Coney Island Hospital, Coler-Goldwater Specialty Hospital and Metropolitan Hospital Center.

Teenager Dies After Slipping, Falling From FDR Drive Into East River

A 15-year-old boy has died after falling from the FDR Drive, officials said. Justin Smith slipped by accident off a railing and fell into the East River near 102nd Street and 105th Street at round 8:15 p.m on Saturday night.
