NJ DWI Offenders Could Avoid License Suspension Under New Bill

The measure could allow drivers convicted of a first DWI to avoid a license suspension by agreeing to install an ignition interlock device in their car. The device requires the driver to take and pass a Breathalyzer-like test before starting the car.

L.I. Town Imposes Stricter Public Drunkenness Law

Those caught being drunk and disorderly in Babylon can now be arrested and charged with a misdemeanor carrying a penalty of up to 90 days in jail. Previously, police could only hand out tickets for public drunkenness.
