Booker, a Democrat, was elected last week to complete the 15 months remaining on the term of former Sen. Frank Lautenberg, who died in June at age 89.
A day after winning New Jersey’s vacant Senate seat, Booker said he’s talking to officials in Washington about when he might be sworn in.
Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz and U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez joined Booker on Sunday.
The election, to fill the remaining year of the late Democratic Sen. Frank Lautenberg’s term, is Oct. 16.

The U.S. Senate candidate and his wife earned $1 million over three years.
Lonegan announced his lawsuit Friday on the steps of Newark City Hall, WCBS 880’s Levon Putney reports.
The tweet showed a map labeling Newark as “West Africa,” “Guyana,” among other places.
Rep. Frank Pallone released a statement Monday saying voters should be able to make a decision that is not “based solely on slick TV ads and 20-second sound bites.”
