New Yorkers Against Gun Violence
CBS News White House correspondent Mark Knoller, who keeps records of such things, said Thursday marked the 14th time Obama had addressed the nation following a gun tragedy.
Just days before the second anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre in Newtown, Connecticut, New Yorkers joined people in all 50 states for a national day against gun violence.
The Obama administration will push to tighten gun laws in response to last week’s schoolhouse massacre in Connecticut, Vice President Joe Biden said Thursday.
“My brother was out with his friends and the guy just came up to him and just shot him. Just picked a fight with him and shot him,” protester Cardida Wilkerson said.
“If he resigns, it’s a decision he makes. I can’t make decisions for him,” Bloomberg told CBS 2’s Tony Aiello on Thursday.
