NFL replacement officials
“I just feel like, what we worried about and what we thought about — what we didn’t want to happen — actually happened,” Cruz said. “Now it’s up to the NFL to really look into this and see how far they want to go with these refs.”
Roger Goodell was hired to steward the league through difficult waters and he is doing just the opposite. The NFL ship is hitting the rocks hard and taking on water. They need to bring back the regular officials right now.
Poor behavior toward replacement refs won’t be tolerated by the NFL.
“I think it’s really tough for them,” Pereira said. “You have to know the rulebook 100 percent. If you don’t, if you have to think about the rules during the course of the game, you’ll never be able to react and officiate properly.”
The NFL and its locked-out officials weren’t talking two days before the season begins, a clear indication replacements will be on the field for Wednesday night’s opener.
If you are using inexperienced officials who have never seen the speed, quickness and power of NFL players, you are going to miss calls. It’s time to end this charade and get the legitimate officials back to work.
