The fire department in Oradell, N.J. held a blood drive for John Barnas, whose father was killed on Feb. 28 while working as a volunteer firefighter in Wallington, N.J. Barnas needs blood transfusions while he receives chemotherapy for cancer.
In announcing his departure earlier this month, Rev. Thomas Iwanowksi said he met with Newark Archbishop John Myers on July 5 “to discuss the situation here.” The two decided “it would be best” for Iwanowski to move ‘forward in faith.”’
