The young members of the P.S. 22 choir have become Staten Island celebrities and a part of American history, and on Monday, they were sharing their memories of performing at President Barack Obama’s second inauguration.
President Barack Obama took a public oath of office on Monday after he was sworn in during a private ceremony on Sunday. The Constitution requires presidential terms to begin on Jan. 20.
Director Gregg Breinberg has had his students perform in front of other big names in the past, but not this big.
The choir will sing “God Bless the USA,” “Home,” “On Top of the World” and “One Dream.”
After hitting the high notes in Hollywood, the fifth grade chorus at P.S. 22 in Staten Island was getting a happy homecoming.
Actress Anne Hathaway was grinning ear to ear as she informed the PS 22 chorus on Staten Island that they’re going to perform at the Academy Awards.
