City Comptroller Scott Stringer says the Department of Education is in violation of state law.
For students at one Brooklyn school it has been a fight to find space for physical education classes, but a creative solution to the problem has left students running the halls.
A Garden State high school has used federal funding to take team building to a new level. Students at Columbia High School have been taking part in an optional physical education class called “Project Adventure.”
“The DOE has failed to give students the legally required amount of physical education and failed to follow its own recommendations for fighting high rates of childhood obesity,” Comptroller Liu said.
