Thousands of New York City police officers should soon be carrying emergency antidotes to help deal with the recent spike in heroin overdoses.
A Georgia man, his wife and other family members have been charged with selling 155 guns, including an AR-15 assault rifle and other automatic weapons, transported in road trips up the Interstate 95 corridor over seven months to an undercover police officer in Brooklyn, authorities announced Wednesday.
The bull had been penned in since September 2011, when police feared the sculpture would be targeted by Occupy Wall Street protesters. During one protest, demonstrators chanted, “Take the bull!”
According to police transit statistics, there were 274 arrests between Jan. and March 2. During the same period last year, 90 panhandlers and peddlers were arrested.
