The incident happened Thursday evening around 6 p.m. on Grafton Street at Livonia Avenue in Brownsville.

Police: Officers Open Fire On Armed Teen

When the plainclothes officers saw the gun, they both fired. The teen was pronounced dead at Kings County Hospital a short time later, police said.

The shooting happened after police were called to Castleton Avenue and Treadwell Avenue in Port Richmond around 11:30 p.m. Saturday night, police said. Police said a man in his 20s pointed a gun at responding officers.

The suspect pulled what looked like a Glock 19 semi-automatic handgun, police said. It was actually a Walther CP99 compressed air pistol, but was designed to look like a Glock, police said.
