Door-to-door mail delivery could become a thing of the past. A U.S. House committee approved a bill that would change delivery to “cluster box” pick-ups.
The mail was apparently taken from two green locked boxes used by carriers to pick up mail to distribute on their routes. It happened in Freeport on April 7.
The program, which has operated for nearly 100 years, enables members of the public and charities to respond to letters from children that are addressed to Santa Claus.
