Federal energy regulators this week gave final approval for construction of a 330-mile electric transmission line, which will carry lower-cost hydroelectric power from Canada to New York City.
“I have a tree that brought down the power lines which caused this pole behind us to break and snap in three spots. We’re bringing crews out here now to repair both locations,” a PSE&G supervisor said.
The accident happened at the Bank of America on Merrick Road in Lynbrook.
According to detectives, two men were preparing to wash windows at a Bank of America branch in Lynbrook using a 40-foot washing pole when a gust of wind blew the pole into a power line.
