Students Baffled By Professor’s Performance In Columbia Science Class

A Columbia University science professor left students baffled, and found himself the talk of the campus, after stripping down and changing clothes in a performance widely described as bizarre.

Robert Emmett Bowen III, a highly regarded bass player from Astoria who also was a well-respected music professor at Hofstra University, died Monday after being struck by a truck in a hit-and-run accident on Second Avenue in Manhattan while riding his bicycle.
