Rye High School juniors Max Meyerson, Sean Pinson and Tristan Scaggs all face second degree assault and other charges after police said they took part in a brutal ritual known around Rye as “Freshman Friday.”
Students at Rye High School say the “Freshman Friday” beat down is a tradition but this year it was particularly brutal.
Police said several eighth graders were forced into a car then driven to a wooded area on Friday. That’s where investigators said they were paddled with a large piece of lumber, causing bruising and other injuries.
Seven Westchester County high schools now have a program to combat domestic violence among teens.
