Sandy Relief Bill
President Barack Obama on Tuesday night signed the $50.5 billion Sandy relief package into law.
The U.S. Senate was set to vote Monday on the $50.5 billion aid package for Superstorm Sandy relief, and Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) said the package will provide aid for long-delayed coastline protection projects.
Tri-State Area residents began the weekend in lingering bitter cold, as the temperature still refuses to climb out of the 20s, and the wind chill continues to make it feel much colder.
Conservatives and watchdog groups have mounted a “not-so-fast” campaign against a $50.7 billon Superstorm Sandy aid package that several governors and lawmakers – including New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie — hope to see pushed through the House this coming week.
