Dept. Of Sanitation: Times Square Saw 48 Tons Of Trash On New Year’s Eve

As New Yorkers and tourists alike filed out of the Crossroads of the World, a small army of sanitation workers descended on the area to remove party hats, confetti, noise makers and other trash.

Sanitation Comm.: Map Showing No Plowing On UES Was Due To Bad GPS On Salt Truck

New York City Sanitation Commissioner John Doherty said a map that showed streets going unplowed on the Upper East Side was due to a faulty GPS system on a salt spreader, and traffic problems.
