Tri-State Area schoolchildren were guaranteed a snow day on Tuesday, with an added bonus of an early dismissal Monday afternoon.
The National Weather Service says much of the state is in line for 4 to 8 inches of snow falling throughout the day Monday. The highest amounts are expected to be across the middle of the state with less in the northernmost and southernmost counties.
The United Federal of Teachers and the Council of School Supervisors & Administrators filed the lawsuit on Monday. The unions say they want to force the city into arbitration.
This weekend’s unusual weather has walloped many Tri-State Area school systems.
