New York Senators Schumer, Gillibrand Support Increase To Federal Minimum Wage
The National Employment Law Project praises the proposal, saying that it would trigger a rise in the minimum wage for 1 million New Yorkers. The efforts come as the number of Americans in poverty are rising and wages are mostly stagnant.
If Deal Goes Through, N.Y. Parents Will See Job Evaluation Of Teachers For First Time
New York parents will see for the first time the job evaluations of the teachers who instruct their children under a deal expected soon. Parents won’t get a detailed performance review, but rather broad categories such as “highly effective” and “ineffective.”
