NYC High School Progress Reports Released, Show Consistent School Performance

This year’s A-through-F “progress reports” for schools will likely be the last, since Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio has said the formula is too simplistic. The letter grades were ushered in by Mayor Michael Bloomberg in 2007 in an effort to hold schools accountable for student performance.

City, Teachers’ Union Praise State-Imposed Teacher Evaluation System

The evaluation plan incorporates student test scores, principal observations and other data. Twenty percent of each score will be determined by “locally selected measures” that individual schools can set.
