Police chased the pit bull through backyards and woods before shooting it several times. It happened in front of the Precious Kids II nursery school.

Doctors Say L.I. Woman Mauled In Pit Bull Attack Expected To Recover

The dogs savaged 62-year-old Shashi Sharma’s face and head and tore at her arms and legs. When she was first hospitalized, doctors were extremely concerned she might lose her left arm, and put her into a medically induced coma.

Police Continue Search For Pit Bull In North Merrick Attack; Surveillance Photo Released

Friday afternoon, Nassau County Police released a surveillance photo of the two pit bulls. Investigators are also zeroing in on the identity of the dogs’ owner that roamed from his yard with no collars and no ID chips.
