Obama ‘HOPE’ Artist Shepard Fairey Gets Probation In AP Lawsuit Case
A federal judge in New York has given two years of probation to an artist who created the “HOPE” poster that came to symbolize Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign. He was sentenced Friday in Manhattan.

Federal Judge Alvin Hellerstein said in a one-page order that a “suggestion of settlement” led him to dismiss claims between Shepard Fairey and the AP.
