The arrest of a Long Island couple after a teenage girl got alcohol poisoning at their house has renewed the debate about the perils of supervised underage drinking.

L.I. Couple Arrested Under Social Host Law Months After Teen’s Death

Police said the teen stumbled away from the Dix Hills house party with alcohol in her system and was struck and killed as she tried to walk across the nearby parkway.
