St. Peter’s Church
Events and memorials were held around the Tri-State area Tuesday to mark the 11th anniversary of the Sept. 11th terror attacks.
In the days following 9/11, victims’ family members came to St. Peter’s Church just up the street from where the Twin Towers fell, to find comfort. They returned 10 years later to remember the fallen.
A flatbed truck moved the World Trade Center cross from its old location next to St. Peter’s Church to the National September 11th Memorial and Museum.
During the emotional cleanup at Ground Zero, the cross found in the rubble of the World Trade Center became a symbol of solace and peace.
Thousands of people flocked to Ground Zero Thursday to honor those who died and to catch a glimpse of President Barack Obama — including The Stallings family from New Jersey.
