Malcolm Smith of Queens and John Sampson of Brooklyn, two of those recorded, have already been charged with crimes including bribery and embezzlement, WCBS 880′s Irene Cornell reported.
Today, Joseph Esposito, who just retired as Chief of Department after over 44 years on the force, testified about allegations made by St. Sen. Eric Adams during the trial.
“I believe that in his heart, he has the best intention of New Yorkers. I believe all of us are traumatized after September 11th, all of us are traumatized by the number of guns in the street. I think he’s used the wrong method,” Adams said.
