Mantoloking Residents To Be Allowed Back Home On Friday; Avon Boardwalk Reconstruction Delayed

Mantoloking sustained some of the worst damage in the Oct. 29 storm. Hundreds of homes were destroyed and the ocean cut a channel through to Barnegat Bay, cutting the town in two.

Report: Sandy Was Second-Costliest Hurricane In History, Winds Felt As Far As Wisconsin

A National Hurricane Center report detailed how Superstorm Sandy not only caused destruction up and down the East Coast,buit also created wind gusts as far west as Wisconsin and as far north as Canada.

Luxury UES Hotel Donates All Furniture To Sandy Relief Effort

After Sandy hit, the Loews Regency decided to donate the conference tables, refrigerators and other furniture. The hotel temporarily closed on New Year’s Day for renovations and is scheduled to reopen this fall.

Hugh Carey Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel To Reopen Monday On Limited Basis

Governor Andrew Cuomo has announced that the Gov. Hugh L. Carey Tunnel, formerly called the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel, will reopen for limited rush-hour buses on Monday – two weeks to the day after Superstorm Sandy struck.
