A 16-year-old girl who was a guest at the party was ill with alcohol poisoning, police said. Other underage teens were also visibly drunk and witnesses told police that large amounts of vodka had been consumed, according to police.

According to police, Jose R. Fuentes, 39, was killed as he was crossing East Main Street and Conklin Avenue at around 8 p.m. Sunday. He was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue where he was pronounced dead.
