The Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum was set to mark the 72nd anniversary of the attack at Pearl Harbor with a special ceremony Saturday.
The new pavilion for NASA’s retired shuttle was unveiled at a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday morning.

Up on the flight deck, the protective bubble surrounding the recently acquired space shuttle Enterprise was deflated by superstorm Sandy.
Hundreds of onlookers armed with cameras gathered on rooftops and piers to catch a glimpse of the Enterprise, which was airlifted on the back of a 747, as it arrived in the New York City Friday morning.
The aircrafts are being hoisted by crane onto the pier and then a barge. They’ll be taken to the Empire State Aerosciences Museum in Glenville, N.Y.
