One of the NYPD’s newest recruits knows all too well the risks faced by police officers.
Officer Eder Loor was stabbed in the head on April 17, 2012 while responding to a call of an emotionally disturbed person in East Harlem.
Doctors said the knife penetrated his temple and went through his skull and into his brain, but narrowly missed vitals areas and a main artery. “I’m just happy that I’m alive,” Loor said today.
Doctors said that though the knife went into his brain, it narrowly missed vitals areas and a main artery.
NYPD Police Commissioner Ray Kelly described what happened, saying Loor was “stabbed in his left temple with a knife that penetrated his skull.”
