A Brooklyn assemblyman is hoping to end what he calls a parking meter “shell game” that he says has been ripping off New Yorkers.
The Coast Guard has banned boats from the area near the base of the Verrazano Bridge where 1,500 live anti-aircraft shells are sitting at the bottom of Gravesend Bay.
Brooklyn Assemblyman William Colton said the state is owed $14.4 billion in delinquent taxes and wants Albany to make a greater effort to collect the money.
