"All That Way for Love"

This 20-minute narrative follows a young Irishman as he travels to Mozambique in an effort to reach his girlfriend. He encounters a number of obstacles along the way, falling into the company of an older couple in Malawi. The main character, Roberto, struggles to keep his family afloat as he unsuccessfully searches for one job after another. When a freak accident threatens Roberto's life and puts him at the center of media attention, he gets the opportunity to finally make some money - but it will cost him his life. The narrative is described as "combining a darkly comic satire with an emotional drama about a family's unconditional love."

Their paths cross with a just-out-of-prison boxer, his mother and his retired sheriff father. Don't be fooled by the length of this narrative - although only four minutes long and with no dialogue, "Intermission Time" will have you laughing and crying at the same time. An animated film, "Intermission Time" follows the clerk of a concession stand at a drive-in movie theater. Once he closes up shop however, "his victims seek revenge." Killer hot dogs? What will happen?

Rounding out as the biggest film of the week, the one everyone is talking about, is "The Avengers." The much-awaited superhero feature film will close the Tribeca Film Festival. The movie has already gained quite a bit of hype over the past few months as summer movie previews have begun. Based on the Marvel comics, "The Avengers" brings together all of your favorite superheroes, including the Hulk, Superman, Ironman, Captain America, Black Widow, Hawkeye and Thor. It is their responsibility to save the world from disaster. The screening is invitation-only, with seats reserved for America's real-life heroes; the firefighters, police officers, military and EMS responders who save lives daily. "The Avengers" opens in theaters across the nation on May 2.
