This Williamsburg watering hole boasts 100 seats on its rooftop bar, both indoor and outdoor. The 14 beers on tap include Spaten and Blackthorn Cider. Cocktails too. Hungry? Nosh on such American and German fare as a pretzel-crusted chicken sandwich served with pickled jalapenos on a brioche bun or an avocado BLT. No cover, and seats are first come, first served. Get there early, for sure, and enjoy the drink specials beginning at 2 p.m.

Located a whooping 12 stories above the East River, the Navy Yard Farm is an actual working farm, a full-on 65,000 square feet of growing space. On July 4, $125 gets you fried chicken, pulled pork, various sides, including potato salad and mac and cheese, beer, and, best of all, an awesome view of the fireworks. Post-fireworks, you can stay on for a dance party until 11 p.m. Advance tickets recommended, and you must be 21 or older to attend.

With an open bar (from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.), you'll have plenty of opportunity to get nice and loose before the fireworks kick off at 9:20--ish, sending something like 1,600 colored shells up into the air. There will be a live DJ on hand too. The three-level Penthouse boasts 360-degree views, including a 900-square-feet roof deck, so there's really not a bad seat in this house. Only those 21 and older, with ID, will be admitted.

Just about every weekend the PH-D Rooftop Lounge, atop the Dream Hotel, holds "Sunset Saturdays," a chance to kick back, relax, and soak in the excellent panoramic view. However, the July 4 event will have aerialists and stilt walkers. Win-win, right? But that's not all: there will be a real live Uncle Sam, just to make sure you're really and truly feeling patriotic as the fireworks begin to boom and bang. The party starts at 6 p.m., and goes until 4 a.m.
