5 Tips To Organize Your New York Entertainment Center

When New Yorkers are not venturing to an event, they are staying at home being entertained by their big screen TVs. Organization is the key to having an enjoyable entertainment center experience. However, there is so much that goes into creating the perfect set up. With all components needing consideration, make it easier on yourself by following these simple steps.

1. The center of it all: Entertainment centers come in a variety of sizes and designs to fit any décor and space. Purchase modular units to fill an entire wall. Simple consoles come in different widths to accommodate various screen sizes. Find geometric modern units with elements of metal and glass, or choose a traditional wood instead.

2. Organize the tangled mess: No one enjoys getting lost in a muddled mess of cables and wires when trying to clean up dust bunnies. This task no longer needs to be overwhelming. Tidy up cables that have become jumbled. Determine where each cable goes and wrap them together to consolidate space.

3. Keep order by stacking: Boxes and trays are perfect for organizing and sorting CDs, DVDs and Blu-Ray discs. Remove anything that no longer appeals to your taste. This will quickly decrease your collection and make it more manageable. Take this step a bit further by organizing your media either alphabetically or by genre. Choose which method works best for you. Try to maintain this order to keep the center looking nice.

4. No more remote mix up: New media components are constantly flooding the market and with them comes a remote. No longer does a remote just work the TV, but also the DVD player, DVR, stereo and more. It's no wonder why remote controls are always being misplaced, lost and confused. A universal remote can solve your problems by replacing the need for up to six different remotes. Keep the remote control nightmare at bay by using a single remote to control all of the media components in the entertainment center.

5. Establish rules: Everyone enjoys plopping down in front of the TV for a show or movie. However, it seems certain individuals in the household assume the space is theirs for the taking. Establish rules for how this new center needs to be treated. Go through and show your child, husband or wife where certain gadgets go. Consider labeling for ensured clarity.
