8 Craziest Outfits From Past Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

The 2013 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show will wow viewers on Dec. 10 with another multi-million dollar blinged-brasserie, and costumes that will not only take your breath away, but will be discussed for years to come. The outrageous fashions on the Victoria’s Secret catwalk never disappoint, and are notorious for sparking water cooler discussions the next day.

From mechanical Angel wings and props to skimpy, transparent lingerie, the scantily-clad Angel outfits are known spice up the holiday season as well as spike the S&P 500. A few notable highlights over the last few years:  

Tyra Banks

During the 2001 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, Tyra Banks looked stunning in a black and silver fringed lingerie gown. Although, it is clear that this is something made for the bedroom, Banks could have easily worn it on the red carpet to the Oscars.

Julia Stegner

The 2006 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show brought a daring game of poker to the stage with Julia Stegner looking like a virtuous Queen of Hearts. Take away the whimsical skirt and you are left with a simple black and yellow top and bottom, but it's the construction of the skirt and the details on the inside along with those red heals that makes this outfit stick out. 

Heidi Klum

In the 2007 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, Heidi Klum was radiant in a snowflake-inspired ensemble that looked like it weighed about as much as the model herself. The detailing of her wings (snowflakes?) mirrored the colors and accessories of her corset. Klum strutted down the runway to the sounds of her than husband, Seal, who was also wearing a matching outfit.

Caroline Trentini captured the whimsical, fairytale forest look during her 2009 walk in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, Especially with the bikini bottoms prominently featuring a pink rose, her wings looked more like a gorgeous bunch of flower growing in the wild than the more traditional angle wings.

The 2012 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show brought a bit of the circus to town as the Angels wore glamorous clown inspired outfits, including ringmaster Adriana Lima. Complete with thigh high black and gold boots, Lima's red and gold ringmaster coat gave way to a shimmery black lingerie set.

Izabel Goulart, 2011 outfit in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show didn't stand out too much just being black and white stripes, it was the two giant parasols she wore as wings that stood out. A huge bow on her behind and fingerless gloves completed her look.

This same year, the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show “calendar girls” featured a costume for each month. South-African model Candice Swanepoel strutted down the runway in a jaw-dropping outfit as a stunning Valentine’s Day imp.

Back to the 2012 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show where Alessandra Ambrosio wore the $2.5 million Fantasy Bra, but it was the floral wings that garnered her the attention of the world. The life like purple and pink Orchids were so beautifully detailed they almost took away from the Fantasy Bra itself.  

The 2013 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show will air on December 10th at 10pm ET/PT on CBS.
