If you want to find the perfect weekend lunch spot, head to Noorman's Kil in Brooklyn. Not only do they serve up the best grilled cheese in the city (we recommend the Sylvia: Empire Jack, Herbes de Provence, sliced tomatoes on ciabatta), their selection of whiskeys is almost unmatched. You will have over 400 drink options to choose from, so choose wisely! For a drink to warm you up, try their Hot Toddy, with Kilbeggan Irish whiskey, honey, lemon, cinnamon and cloves. At Noorman's, you can join a regular whiskey tasting or take part in one of the many events to learn more about the drink. And if that wasn't enough, the bar also features a big backyard perfect for sips during summertime.

A bar that claims speakeasy fame, Death & Company likes to experiment and provides plenty of cocktails that you won't find anywhere else. An entire section of their extensive drink menu is dedicated to whiskey. Try the Irish Libation with green apple, pepper jelly, egg white, sarsparilla, cream sherry and more. Try your drink, shaken or stirred, for $15 apiece.

Swift Hibernian Lounge
34 E. 4th St.
New York, NY 10003
(212) 260-3600
www.swiftnycbar.com

This Irish bar was named after Jonathan Swift, an Irish writer and patriot, and the bar itself is outfitted with old church pews and a pulpit from Swift's own parish. The atmosphere is pure Irish, with the drinks to match. The lounge is known for maintaining one of the best collections of Irish whiskey in the city, and there's good reason for that claim. Even the names of their whiskey cocktails are Irish themed, including Irish Penicillin, Captain Gulliver, Irish Old Fashion'd and Water of Life.
