DEFEND YOUR RIDE: Viera At The Staten Island Mall

Q: Hi Viera! Welcome to Defend Your Ride New York. What can you tell us about yourself?

A: I've lived in Staten Island for over 30 years and came to New York from Czechoslovakia when I was young. It's a great place to live and although the traffic has gotten much worse, it's still better than the other boroughs. I definitely like my commute to work a lot better since I have been working in Staten Island rather than my commute when I worked in Brooklyn.

Q: Where are we and what brings you here today?

A: We are at The Staten Island Mall. I am here to do some shopping at Macy's. I come here often, mostly because I live so close, but I do love going to malls.

Q: Do you always drive when coming here?

A: I usually drive because I like to shop and sometimes I have too many bags to carry. I also tend to return things too. When it's beautiful out though, I walk here for the exercise, especially if I don't plan on buying anything. There aren't too many malls in New York City, so I feel pretty lucky to be able to come here so easily.

Q: Is your trunk spacious enough for your shopping adventures?

A: Oh yeah. It's great. My trunk space is important to me and this car does not disappoint. I have been amazed at what I have been able to fit.

Q: What else do you like about your car?

A: The ride is always smooth and comfortable. It's not too big, but feels very spacious inside. I feel like I am in first class when I sit in my car. My friends tell me the back is very roomy, but I like to drive. I really enjoy driving it, especially when I am listening to my music.

Q: How does this car compare to your previous ones?

A: This car has more power and more features. The rearview mirror is great because it has a compass on it and a tint so you aren't blinded by the lights behind you. I also like how this car looks. I love my wheels on this car. My previous cars have always had hubcaps.

Q: Is there anything else you'd like to share with us about your ride?

A: I love my car! My husband doesn't, but I love it. He has his own car anyway, so it works out. He likes that his car gets better gas mileage, but my car has more power!
