Tucked away on an unassuming corner on Adams Street is Dozzino, an artisan pizza shop adored by pizza-loving locals. Dozzino's uses simple, flavorful ingredients and handmade dough to deliver a crisp, authentic pizza which is about the closest you'll come to Italy from this side of the Hudson. You can bring your favorite wine or beer and have a choice of sitting inside, and as a bonus, there's outdoor seating for when the weather is warm.

Benny Tudino's has aptly titled itself the "King of Pizza."  We say "aptly" because, well, just take a look at one of these giant slices and you'll see what we mean. At least in terms of size, these slices rule. You will certainly use both of the two paper plates that they serve your pizza on - and one piece is about all you'll need. Even with their over-sized pies, the quality of each pizza never suffers; you will always have a piping hot, crispy thin crust slice oozing with gooey cheese.

This cozy Italian restaurant has our vote not just for some of Hoboken's best pizza, but as one of our favorite overall restaurants in the neighborhood, as well. Take a date or take your friends for an upbeat atmosphere on the middle of bustling Washington Street - but if you're going to enjoy a drink, remember that this restaurant, like many others in New Jersey, is BYOB.

Don't let the modest exterior (okay, and interior) deter you. The chicken-bacon-ranch slices at this small, friendly pizza joint are out of this world. While the sandwiches and subs at Hudson Pizza Co. have a reputation for mediocrity (which we don't dispute), the slices - plain or with topping - best many neighborhood rivals.

We recommend the chicken parm pie from this so-called 'Pizza Cafe,' which boasts well-done pies with a  superb pizza-sauce ratio. Slightly more expensive than other Hoboken slices, the cost can likely be attributed to the consistently fresh ingredients used to make Filippo's fare undeniably tasty each and every time.

Grimaldi's

The reputation of this Brooklyn-based pizzeria says it all. The two Hoboken Grimaldi outposts carry on the tradition that New Yorkers have known and loved for years. The pizza's famous thin crust is baked in a brick oven over slow burning coals to create a slightly charred, crisp effect that withstands the weight of fresh sliced mozzarella, tomato sauce and basil.

This quaint BYOB is a favorite among Hoboken dwellers, not only for pizza but for the authentic Italian dishes and appetizers served up alongside of the pies. While you can come for a night of casual, intimately lit dining on the red and white checked table cloths, the pizza is top notch, and certainly a menu highlight. In fact, there is an entire menu dedicated to just pizza. Regular pies, which come in 14 inch circles or square shaped, are adorned with fresh mozzarella, homemade tomato sauce, garlic and basil and olive oil to ensure the pie is flavorful and full of texture. Ask about their specialty pies and use their list of ingredients to create your own.
