While Long Island City’s proper name is currently being debated by some, there’s no arguing that the bustling area of Queens is on the rise. Whatever you want to call this part of the city, LIC is growing quickly as one of NYC’s hottest neighborhoods – with waterfront parks and a blossoming art scene. Hop on the 7 train – just one stop out of Midtown – to find these happy hours at LIC’s best bars. By Sarah Shaker.

One of NYC’s best beer bars is in LIC and their team offers an amazing happy hour from 4:20 to 7pm everyday and 11pm – 1am from Sunday through Thursday. Daily deals also run all night long alongside beer specials, like “Wing ‘It Monday” with 50cent wings and “Taco Tuesday”, where ten bucks get you three gourmet tacos. On “Slider Wednesday” you can bite into 2 sliders and at “BeerBalls” on Thursday you’ll enjoy two chef’s choice balls, both deals only for $10 along with your discounted beers. And don’t forget their daily happy hour special is $12, including half dozen oysters with $5 craft beers, wine and cocktails.

The Corner Bistro
Offering one of our favorite winter brunches, Corner Bistro’s LIC location also has a great neighborhood happy hour. From Monday through Friday, take advantage of $3 well, $3 wine and $3.50-$4.50 drafts from 4-7 p.m. And while you’re digging into the famous Bistro Burger, the Bistro Wings (only available at this location) are also a must-order.
Domaine Bar A Vins
Every night from 5-7 p.m. enjoy fresh $1 East Coast Oysters at Domaine Wine Bar. The highly regarded wine bar is a frequent stop for locals on their way home from the office in Midtown. Boasting an extensive list of 40 wines by the glass from all over the world, there’s also a cheese selection from Artisanal, charcuterie and of course the already mentioned fresh oysters that you shouldn’t miss out on during happy hour. If you’re still boozing late night, stop by to enjoy live jazz.
