The recently-opened Dream Downtown’s rooftop club Ph-D has become one of the toughest doors this season. Try to arrive before the velvet ropes go up around 8 p.m. or plan on paying for bottle service, and you’ll be treated to Empire State Building views and a decor reminiscent of ’80s excess–leather banquettes, black lacquer and shiny chrome. Heidi Klum recently hosted a Halloween party here, and other celebs spotted include Leonardo DiCaprio, Russell Simmons and Khloe Kardashian.

If you can make it to the top of the Standard Hotel, you’ll witness one of the most breathtaking panoramic views in the city, not to mention the eye candy surrounding you. Madonna, Jared Leto and Lindsey Lohan have been known to make appearances here. The Boom Boom Room’s lavish gold bar and Le Bain’s oversized hot tub will have you feeling like nightlife royalty. Before 10 p.m., take the elevator to the 18th floor, after 10 p.m. The club is invitation-only.

A cabaret supper club brought to you by the team behind 1OAK and Butter, this dimly-lit 1920’s style lounge features a stage in the dining room where a six-piece band performs nightly. P. Diddy, Kanye West and Beyonce have been spotted either dining upstairs or knocking back Champagne downstairs. Food Network star chef Alex Guarnaschelli churns out nouveau American dishes, such as oyster-stuffed filet of beef.

This lofty bi-level lounge decked out in exotic vintage decor has had a strict door since opening in 2009.  Scarlett Johansson and Radiohead’s Thom Yorke have both been spotted here recently, while the Olsen twins and Kirsten Dunst are regulars. Expect a crowd of New York insiders on weeknights and out-of-town hangers-on during weekends.

This former strip club-turned-downtown hangout is popular among the celebrity hipster set, including Kirsten Dunst and the Olsen twins. The brass poles and light-up dancefloor from the venue’s past life were kept intact, and the crowd here likes to dance into the wee hours. Run by the same crew behind the Jane Ballroom, Westway’s much smaller and even tougher to get into, so make nice with the doorman.
