It's the first Monday of the month and that means it's Spelling Bee time! Head over to Pete's Candy Store and sign up to partake in a real adult spelling bee, hosted by BobbyBlue and Jen Dziura. There's no cover and the first fifteen people to put their names down will get a chance to compete for ultimate spelling domination. The games begin at 7:30p.m.

Watch Ralph Macchio star in The Karate Kid tonight as part of the HBO Bryant Park Summer Film Festival series. Grab your blanket and stake out your spot to watch as this teenage kid is taught discipline and self-defense by Mr. Miyagi (Pat Morita) just in time to fight against his bully in the finale. Enjoy a Waner Brothers cartoon before tonight's screening. Movie starts about a half-hour after sunset. Admission is free.

Listen to Old Crow Medicine Show perform live in Central Park tonight on the SummerStage. The Grand Ole Opry inductees and Grammy winning artists have come full circle, having started their career by busking on street corners in New York state and up through Canada. Now, the "Wagon Wheel" singers are back and ready to play a free concert in one of the most iconic parks in the city. Langhorne Slim and Spirit Family Reunion will join them on stage tonight. Tickets are $40 and concert starts at 6:30 p.m.

Cozy up with Amy Adams, Bradley Cooper, Christian Bale, and Jennifer Lawrence as they star in this year's hit movie, American Hustle. Flicks on the Beach will be showing a sunset screening of the Oscar nominated film as part of their summer series on the beach. Watch as con man, Irving Rosenfeld, and his seductive partner, Sydney Prosser, work for a wild FBI agent, who pushes them into a world of Jersey powerbrokers and the mafia. Live entertainment starts at 7:30 p.m. and screening begins at dusk.

Stay in summer shape by joining the Shape Up NYC's Couch to 5k group for a run through Prospect Park. This running group meets on the porch of Lefferts Historic House and is taught by expert fitness instructors who know how to make fitness fun! Tonight's group run combines jogging, walking, and conditioning exercises to get you in shape for long distance running. Class will be held outdoors, rain or shine so come prepared. Class starts at 7 p.m.
