Museum of Jewish Heritage
Head over to the Museum of Jewish Heritage to watch a screening of Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park. Now through August 13th, the Museum will be celebrating his great films during the Close Encounters of the Spielberg Kind series. Tonight, watch Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, and Sam Neill run from a group of cloned dinosaurs that have run amok inside a theme park during a major power breakdown. Hey, it was the 90s, right? Movie starts at 6:30 p.m. and tickets are free with suggested donation.
To Market, To Market!
Edible Manhattan invites a panel of people behind some of your favorite local markets throughout the city to the Brooklyn Brewery tonight. They’ll tell you the inside story on how these markets have gotten up and running and what makes them so successful. Just a few contributing tonight include the Brooklyn Night Bazaar, GrowNYC, and UrbanSpace. Stick around to network and learn more. Event goes rom 8 p.m. – 10 p.m. and tickets are $5.
Riverside Park South
As if! Make your way over to Riverside Park South’s Pier 1 to watch the classic film about valley girls and Beverly Hills. That’s right, watch Alicia Silverstone and Paul Rudd star in Clueless, the film that brought schoolgirl uniforms and California lingo to the big screen. Pack a picnic and bring a friend because the show starts at 8:30 p.m. and admission is free. Plus, can you beat watching a movie along the Hudson? We think not.
Concerts in the Park: Prospect Park
The New York Philharmonic will perform a free concert tonight in Prospect Park. The program will include R. Strauss’ Don Juan and Till Eulenspiegel’s Merry Pranks, Smetana’s Vysehrad from Ma viast, and Tchaikowvsky’s Romeo and Juliet, Overture-Fantasy. You won’t want to miss seeing Alan Gilbert conduct this beautiful orchestra in one of the prettiest parks in Brooklyn. Concerts starts at 8 p.m.
Tonight’s your lucky night because the innovative artists over at Vanity Projects have teamed up with luxury sex toy designer LELO for a nail pop-up shop at Babeland. Get your nail art on while enjoying fresh cocktails and breezy bedroom tips. Don’t forget to pick up your free gift on you way out (for those getting manicures). The fun begins at 7 p.m.
