Event begins at 7 p.m. but wristbands will be distributed at 10 p.m. with purchase of the book. Get ready to laugh (and probably have the best time ever).

Pizza lovers everywhere (and just people, in general) are invited to see Slices of Life tonight at the Magnet Theater. Listen to stories about great pizza makers, dating in New York City, and what happened when he had a brush with death in a walk-in freezer. Pizza will be provided immediately after the show. It's hard to believe that it's already been two years since Hurricane Sandy hit New York City. Tonight, Professor Ted Steinberg will address the urgent question: Can NYC survive the sea? In his new book, Gotham Unbound, he charts the transformation of New York region over three centuries. Find out what the city has done in the past to deal with coastal flooding as well as its current plans to protect the city's waterfront. He will also sit down with author Kate Ascher and Milstein Profesor of Urban Development at Columbia University to discuss this topic and take part in an audience Q&A. Event starts at 6:30 p.m. and tickets are $16 for general public, $12 for students/seniors, free for members.
