We know everyone loves the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte, but we prefer this local take on the warm, autumnal drink. Making our list for the second year in a row is the Pumpkin Latte from Martha’s Country Bakery. This former Hell’s Kitchen haunt has been in Astoria since the 80’s and hasn’t looked back. They have everything from eight varieties of pound cakes to crisp apple pies and their famous butter cream cupcakes. While you’re waiting for dessert, order a pumpkin latte – it’s sure to satisfy your sweet tooth.
Pumpkin Bun, Golden Steamer
While there is no shortage of steamed pork buns in Chinatown, Pumpkin Buns are a special offering at the Golden Steamer. This dessert bun is packed with fall flavors. The fluffy steamed bun is stuffed with a buttery pumpkin puree, slightly sweet and very creamy. At 70 cents a bun, you can order enough for the whole office to enjoy!

Banana Pudding and the Chocolate Bomb Pudding are available year-round at this favorite Lower East Side bakery, but only in the autumn months does the pumpkin pudding arrive. Indulge in crumbled pumpkin cake, whipped cream and eggnog pudding. And don’t forget their Pumpkin Cupcake with cream cheese frosting is available every season, when you need that pumpkin fix during the warmer months.
Pumpkin Loaf, Locanda Verde
Locanda Verde brings back their pumpkin loaf around early November, so soon you’ll be singing it’s praise. This dense and moist cake is topped with toasted pumpkin seeds, with a pumpkin spiced flavor balanced with creamy butter, reminiscent of a pound cake. Pair with the house apple cider or a coffee for an autumn breakfast to-go or to linger in this Tribeca favorite on a lazy weekend morning.
Pumpkin Brownie, Fat Witch Bakery
Inside Chelsea Market you’ll find this brownie-haven, known for their tiny, gooey treats. The Pumpkin Brownie includes a layer of their signature buttery chocolate brownie under a thick layer of pumpkin cake with cinnamon and spice. Insider tip: stop by from 5-7pm on weekdays for “witching hours” – half off all unwrapped brownies!
Pumpkin Ice Cream, Sundaes & Cones
A fall seasonal flavor, the pumpkin ice cream at Sundaes & Cones shouldn’t be missed. Order a scoop or two on a sugar cone for a makeshift frozen pumpkin pie. There’s also an egg nog flavor offered as the weather keeps getting cooler, so make sure to check out that holiday flavor this winter.
Pumpkin Whoopie Pies, One Girl Cookies
This Brooklyn bakery is well known for their pumpkin whoopie pies, exciting locals each fall. Two rounds of moist pumpkin cookie-cakes are held together with a sweet cream cheese frosting. This pumpkin treat offers a few bites of pumpkin goodness without being overly sugary or dry.
