NEW YORK (CBS 2) — The first terror attack against the World Trade Center happened on February 26, 1993, at 12:18 p.m. The terrorists parked a van packed with explosives in the parking garage on the second level basement of the North Tower.

The explosion killed six people and injured hundreds of others. It also knocked out the Port Authority Police Command and Operations Centers for the Trade Center.
