B&C Blog: Bay Sits Down

On this Wednesday edition of the Boomer and Carton Extravaganza the guys had a lot to get to. Al Dukes booked a slew of in-studio guests, the Yanks lost to the Indians 4-1 and the Mets beat down the Cardinals 8-2, without the services of their high priced left fielder Jason Bay, who sat out of the game for what the team called concussion like symptoms (headache) after crashing into the wall on Friday night. To say Craig had his doubts about Bay's injury would be putting it mildly; he actually called for Bay to be traded, saying he doesn't want to see him in the Mets line-up for the rest of the season. Boomer did all he could to calm Craig down, but then the breakfast order came. At this point Craig just about exploded, because while Boomer enjoyed his morning oatmeal and coffee, no one had even bothered to ask him if he would like something. From there Craigie shifted his focus to Boomer's backside, yes his butt, which according to him is more than ample...
Plus, an update interrupted by some under arm hair, a visit from the Pac-12 as Lane Kiffin, Jim Harbaugh, Rick Neuheisel and commissioner Larry Scott stop by for an in-studio visit, Darryl Strawberry stopped by to talk about the state of the Mets and their upcoming Hall of Fame ceremony this weekend, the 'hot waitress' from Yankee Stadium calls in, Moment of the Day courtesy of Jerry Recco and an 'Attention Grabber' who stirs up some controversy..

Jerry had a difficult time getting through his first update of the day because he was interrupted by Craig, which isn't unusual, but this interruption lasted a little longer than we're used to. You see, Craig found a picture of today's 'Attention Grabber', Danielle Lloyd, where she has hair under her armpits. He demanded that she be taken off the website, but it's my 'AG' so she is still up there, sans the armpit hair picture, which I excluded. When Jerry was finally allowed to continue, he played some audio of Alex Rodriguez that furthered Craig's theory that his personal 'man-crush' A-Rod is not very smart...

For the majority of the 7 o'clock hour, Boomer and Craig talked with a few prominent Head Coaches from the Pac-12 (formerly the Pac-10) and the Conference's commissioner, Larry Scott. Lane Kiffin (USC Trojans), Jim Harbaugh (Stanford Cardinal), Rick Neuheisel (UCLA Bruins) all talked openly about the hurdles college coaches face while recruiting and keeping the student athletes on the right path and what it's like to coach a prominent college football team. Craig had plenty of questions for Kiffin, who informed the guys that he was a ball boy for the Jets while Boomer was quarterbacking Gang Green and he made the ball boys put the pads in his pants and only tipped $2 for a car wash... (Listen to Part 2 here.)

The Mets roller coaster ride continued last night as they got a strong start from Jon Niese and kicked-off their home stand with a win. This after a dreadful road trip where they managed just 2 wins in 11 games. There are plenty of questions surrounding the Mets these days, from the play on the field, to the coaching staff, so Al booked Darryl Strawberry to join the guys in-studio to get his take on the situation. Darryl will be inducted into the Mets Hall of Fame this weekend and he assured Craig that he is not afraid of his former teammate Kevin Mitchell…

I apologize for not having a photo of her (yet), but today we heard from the 'hot waitress' that works at Yankee Stadium. She can be seen during the games on TV, when a left-handed batter is up. She got word that B&C wanted to talk to her, so she called up. She is a 27 year-old aspiring actress and just so happens to be single. Craig tried to set her up with Al, we'll see how that goes, but he also invited her in-studio, so hopefully we'll have a photo of her soon enough…

Jerry went back to basics for his highly anticipated Moment of the Day, he selected a Moment from the 7 o'clock hour when Boomer and Craig chatted with the coaches of the Pac-12 and UCLA Head Coach Rick Neuheisel talked about professional athlete's fondness of the game corn-hole…
