B&C Show Blog & Audio: A-Rod's Long Ball - Favre's Junk

Bobby Dwyer

Alex Rodriguez hit his 599th career home run all the way back on July 22nd, then he proceeded to go collect just 9 hits (none of the home runs) in his next 46 at-bats before he hit #600 in the first inning of yesterday afternoon's game (a prediction Craig made yesterday morning on the air), a game the Bombers won by a score of 5-1.  The win, combined with a Tampa Bay Rays loss, catapulted the Yanks back into 1st place, to Boomer's chagrin I might add.  The Mets dropped yet another series, losing yesterday's rubber game in Atlanta by a score of 8-3.  It was a comedy of errors if you will, as those 'Not So Amazins' committed four of them.  For those of you keeping track at home, the Mets have not won a series against a National League team all season.  As Mets fans, Boomer and Craig are embarrassed, Craigie says that Mets fans deserved more.  Brett Favre made today's Show Open and it had nothing to do with whether or not he will retire.  According to our friends at Deadspin.com, Favre sent some inappropriate pictures of his junk to the lovely Jenn Sterger…

Plus, Boomer buys breakfast for the staff and Suzyn Waldman gets all excited, Mary-Ann from Bellmore morphs from Edith Bunker into Jerry Manuel and then back to Edith Bunker, Craig hatches a reality TV idea, more on Favre's junk texting past, Bucky Dent pays the guys an in-studio visit, Deadspin's editor A.J. Daulerio chimes in on the Favre-Sterger saga, Jerry delivers a can't miss Moment of the Day and an 'Attention Grabber' who is Greek and beautiful…

Boomer and Craig made a friendly wager on yesterday's Yankee-Blue Jays game; I guess it wasn't that friendly, because after losing, Boomer had to buy the staff breakfast (thanks Boom!!!).  Jerry too was thankful for the morning nourishment and he repaid Boomer by delivering an hilarious update, during which we heard Suzyn Waldman get all hot and bothered when A-Rod belted home #600…

If you listen to the show regularly, and I know you do, then you are familiar with Craig's numerous impersonations (see above audio for his hilarious Suzyn Waldman).  He also does Chris 'Mad-Dog' Russo and a dead-on Jerry Manuel among others.  Well this morning Mary-Ann from Bellmore called up and she sounded just like Edith Bunker and that was her regular voice.  She was complaining about the Mets pathetic play and she blamed Jerry Manuel for the team's lackluster effort.  From there she broke into, what turned out to be, a pretty good impersonation of the Mets Skipper herself…

While talking about Plaxico Burress and whether or not he will be rejoining the Giants anytime soon, Craig hatched a brilliant idea for a reality T.V. show.  It would be called 'Solitary' and would be focused on a person living inside a 10'-10" box for 90 days with nothing much to do.  The idea would be to see how long they could go before they lost their mind.  For the record, I think Craig lost his mind a long time ago…

When there is a story involving a high profile athlete (Brett Favre), a smokin' hot chick (Jenn Sterger) and alleged texts messages with attached photos of 'junk', you can bet your bottom dollar that Boomer & Craig are gonna talk about it.  Which is exactly what they did shortly after 7:30 this morning...

Bucky Dent won two World Series rings while playing shortstop for the New York Yankees (1977 & 1978) earning the MVP of the '78 Series.  He played in the big leagues for 12 seasons with the White Sox, Yankees, Rangers and Royals, he even had a brief stint as the Yankees Manager from 1989-1990.  Today he joined Boomer & Craig in-studio to talk about old times and give his take on the state of the current Yankee team.  We also learned that Bucky Dent was not his birth name...

With the Brett Favre-Jenn Sterger story taking on a life of its own, Craig told Al to get the editor of Deadspin.com, A.J. Daulerio, on the Program to set the record straight regarding the alleged x-rated text messages Favre sent Sterger's way.  Some pretty juicy stuff folks…

During a break Al Dukes made a revelation about his time working in Tampa Bay, covering the Bucs.  Turns out, Al is similar to Craig in the way that when he is in the locker room with a bunch on scantily clad athletes, his curiosity gets the best of him.  Jerry chose Boomer telling the story on the air for his highly anticipated Moment of the Day…
