Deadspin Defends Favre-Sterger Story

Daulerio has received plenty of criticism since posting the story on Wednesday. The New York Daily News questions whether Deadspin ran with what could be considered to be an off-the-record report by Sterger.

"This obviously isn't the nicest thing in the world to do to Jenn," Daulerio said on the FAN,  "but I did say I wasn't going to sit on the story forever."

He added, "I said [to Sterger], 'I want to move forward with this, can I get your clearance on it?' And I interpereted her email back to mean 'Go ahead.'"

The photos were allegedly sent in 2008, while Favre was playing for the Jets and Sterger was a sideline reporter for the same team. Sterger is currently a reporter on Cable TV, for Versus' "The Daily Line."
