Authorities Identify Body Found In Burning Car
LONG BRANCH, N.J. (AP) -- Monmouth County authorities say the death of a man whose body was found inside the trunk of a burning car this week has been ruled a homicide, but they won't disclose further details on the grisly discovery made Wednesday in Long Branch.
County Prosecutor Luis Valentin said Long Branch police and firefighters found the body around 4 a.m., shortly after they responded to reports of a car engulfed in flames. It was later identified as 42-year-old Stephen Moore of Manchester.
Valentin has declined to speculate on how Moore ended up in the trunk or how the fire started.
No arrests have been made, and a cause of death also has not been disclosed.
